THE EXPEDITION [XP]

=====[ THE GUILD ]=====

The Expedition [XP] takes a different perspective on "guilds" than most other others in Guild Wars that claim "active", "hardcore", "experienced" requirements. [XP] is a more of a PvX social community designed for individuals who like to play Guild Wars to simply relax and enjoy the game, playing at their own pace, seeking out their personal goals, and exploring what they self-define as "fun".

[XP] is also intends on taking the guild into Guild Wars 2, and will start planning their entrance in the next GW title as more information is released early next year.

=====[ THE MEMBERS ]=====

Our members range throughout the whole PvE-PvP spectrum, with some focused solely on PvE, others focused on solely PvP, and many who enjoy all that Guild Wars has to offer. Either way, everybody is very open to other people enjoying what they want to do in-game, whatever side of the spectrum they define as "fun."

The key characteristic of an [XP] is self-sustainability: Members are able to support themselves in the game with whatever resources are available, whether in a group or solo. Our members don't need the guild to have fun in Guild Wars; being in the guild just enhances the excitement and enjoyment of playing.

=====[ ACTIVITY & EVENTS ]=====

Our activity and playtimes vary, mostly throughout American prime timezones, but usually there are a few online throughout the day who participate in playful conversations, talking about 'pie' and 'puppies' in guild chat, (talking on a "nickname" basis) while everybody focuses on whatever they are doing in-game.

Our guild activities are often spontaneous and member-created, where it takes one person to say "let's do something", and the guild discusses in guild chat or on the forums about what adventure they want to seek, whether its a Challenge Mission, Elite Dungeon/Zone, or Team PvP. If somebody wants to do something, they take initiative and lead the activity themselves with whoever is available and willing to join them.

Nobody is ever burdened to participate and help out, but that doesn't mean we don't love playing together as a team. And when we group, we keep the morale high even during the lowest times, and make the most of any situation.

=====[ GOALS & ADVENTURE LOGS ]=====

In the spirit of the theme, The Expedition has an Adventure Log system on their forums, where each member lists their personal in-game goals and learn about what everybody else is currently working on.

As for goals as a guild, [XP] is currently under discussions of the following team content (including, but not limited to):

PvE: Slavers Exile, DoA, MQSC, Underworld, Challenge Missions
PvP: Heroes Ascent, Casual GvG Scrimmages, AB, Sealed Deck (when released)

Ultimately, the goal is to get everybody well-acquainted, so when Guild Wars 2 is released, we have a group of tight-knit friends to explore the new title with.

=====[ RECRUITMENT ]=====

[XP] is looking for unique GW fans who believe and will uphold the guild's mission statements for Guild Wars, and wish to join us on our exploration of the next Guild Wars title. The guild intends on staying a small guild (~25) to keep its tight-knit, nickname-based community, making sure each member gets the attention and voice they deserve.

Recruitment is application-based, where applicants are asked to introduce themselves and share their personal story to our current members so people recognize you as an individual (and as a friend) from the minute you step foot into the community. Though our guild is technically age 18+, we look more for professionalism shown both in-game and in-real-life in all of our future members.

We welcome anybody (couples/partners, groups of friends, "lone rangers", enthusiastic leaders, team players, teachers, learners, etc) as long as they are social and self-sustainable: able to keep themselves entertained and able to make a name for themselves, standing out as an individual in our community of unique characters both in-game and on the forums.
